I have recently been asked to enter a contest which I find very interesting, a fic contest in which sex, violence and the likes are the only themes, excluding the love which people associate with Yaoi, so heres my question. If yaoi is meant to be more hardcore, why does shonen ai always get mixed up with it? Is it wrong to want blood and gorey sex over the what is begining to be more like customary signs of love and romance in yaoi ficition? Why does this happen? Wouldnt you want to see violent acts of passion and agression over blushing antics of love and acceptance?
I myself even do it sometimes. But why?
